For Individuals
If you are looking to work on addressing relationship issues, complex trauma multicultural issues including inter-generational oppression, depression etc I am here to provide that safe space to do so. Therapy provides a safe place to explore your current relationships as well as the formative health relationships with others. You can help you learn the skills you missed out on in childhood, and create vibrant, reciprocal adult friendships and relationships.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
I have trained with Dr. Philip Manfield, Psychotherapist, EMDR Trainer and Consultant for both EMDR and the Flash Technique.
Francine Shapiro developed Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in 1987, utilizing this natural process in order to successfully treat Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Since then, EMDR has been used to effectively treat a wide range of mental health problems. The aim is to reduce distress and negative beliefs associated with past overwhelming or traumatic experiences that are having a significant impact on our mental health. EMDR uses eye movements or other bilateral stimulation to unlock the nervous system and allow the mind and body to process the experience. It is important to remember that it is your own brain that does the healing and that you are the one in control.
The Flash Technique (FT)
The Flash Technique (FT) is a recently developed therapeutic intervention for reducing the disturbance associated with traumatic or other distressing memories. Unlike many conventional trauma therapy interventions, FT is a minimally intrusive option that does not require you to consciously engage with the traumatic memory. This allows you to process traumatic memories without feeling distress.
